Torrens Transit Recognised for Supporting South Australia Police Road Safety Campaign

Torrens Transit was proud to support the South Australia Police Road Safety Section during the filming of an upcoming road safety campaign on Friday, 12 June.

The campaign focuses on an important safety message for public transport users: after getting off a bus, never cross in front of it. Passengers should always wait for the bus to move away before crossing the road, ensuring they have a clear view of oncoming traffic and that they are visible to other road users.

Working alongside SAPOL, a Torrens Transit bus and driver, Richard assisted with filming to help demonstrate both safe and unsafe crossing behaviours. The initiative aims to raise awareness and encourage safer choices around buses and busy roads.

And for those wondering – no, Jeff wasn't kicked off the bus! He was helping support the production and the important road safety message being shared with the community.

In recognition of Torrens Transit's contribution to the program, Sumit, Torrens Transit Operations Manager, attended the SA Police Road Safety Centre on 16 July 2026, where he was presented with an Appreciation Certificate acknowledging the company's participation and support of the road safety initiative.

This recognition reflects Torrens Transit's ongoing commitment to improving safety for our passengers, employees and the wider community. By supporting educational programs and community partnerships such as this, we can help raise awareness of safe behaviours around public transport and contribute to safer roads across South Australia.

Candice Quigley, Customer Experience Manager at Torrens Transit, said the collaboration was an important opportunity to reinforce safety messages within the community.

“We’re proud to work alongside SAPOL to help raise awareness of simple behaviours that can make a real difference to people’s safety. Campaigns like this are a great example of how collaboration can support safer outcomes for our passengers and the wider community.”

We thank SAPOL for the opportunity to partner on this important initiative and look forward to continuing our support of road safety education across the community.

Keep an eye out for the campaign when it launches and stay tuned for further updates
