Operations Manager


About the role

Responsible to the Area Manager for the efficient management and operation of bus services from our Tempe Depot, ensuring compliance with contractual performance standards.


About the role

  • Co-ordinate and supervise the operations of the contracted bus services within Region 6 operated from Tempe Depot.

  • Ensures adequate staff and resources are available to effectively meet operational requirements and customer expectations.

  • Monitor all on road service performance to ensure contractual standards are maintained and exceeded.

  • Maintain the workplace to comply with Occupational Health Safety and Welfare Legislation, Equal Opportunity Legislation.

  • Ensure Quality Assurance standards are maintained.

  • Investigate and respond to all internal and external customer concerns regarding service performance.

  • Communicate with customers, addressing their comments and suggestions regarding service performance and development.

  • Gather appropriate information for service planning and improvement.

  • Liaise with schools, Councils and appropriate Government Departments with issues relating to services operating within the Region 6 contract.

Skills and experience

Ideally you will possess:

  • Experience in the operation of metropolitan bus services and an understanding of the contractual and administrative requirements with TfNSW.

  • Experience in leadership with a focus on employee engagement and motivation.

  • Customer service orientation.

  • Service Planning experience (Desirable)

  • Posses a high level of inter-personnel skills and stakeholder management.

  • Time management and prioritisation skills.
